The subject of a government inquiry, he fled the constraints of Venice to write his 12 volume autobiography, History of My Life. Composer Otto M. Schwarz, in the third part of his rondo series, has endeavoured to portray the story of Casanova musically. Here are the enticing women who wait upon him, as well as the other side of the coin, where Casanova must flee his opponents. But it is precisely this lure of forbidden fruit that calls him to action again and again.
