Glory Fanfare was commissioned by the Brass Band Oberösterreich (Brassband of Upper-Austria) for the 2010 European Brass Band Championships in Linz. As the first piece presented at the gala concert, this fanfare was performed – with double forces – by the Austrian Youth Brass Band at the ‘Brucknerhaus’ in Linz. Of particular interest and ingenuity is the double chorus of trumpets; virtuosic and impressive, it comes to the fore. Modern elements, such as funky bass lines supported by the drum set, add to the picture, and make this fanfare a colourful, top class concert opener.
